The Specific Training portion addresses the needs of adults who have recently accepted the responsibility of delivering the Scouting program to youth by serving as Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters. The Outdoor Weekend is a fun-filled program of hands-on skills training in the outdoors. It's designed to help you master the basic camp skills required for Tenderfoot to First Class. Both, along with This is Scouting, are required to be considered TRAINED and are a prerequisite for attendance at WOOD BADGE.
This training is ideal for older Scouts who would like to add excitement and diversity to their Scouting activities, or for adults interested in serving our Scouting youth in a very exciting and rewarding way. These skills will be valuable as you grow as a leader in school, the workplace, or your Scout unit.
It is a unique opportunity to learn how to develop effective teams and understand group dynamics as well as facilitate the COPE program at Goose Pond. If you love high adventure and challenge, we want you!
